A technology-driven fintech organisation in Estonia is seeking a Senior Financial Systems Developer to engineer reliable software for transaction processing, financial data management, account services, and digital financial operations.

This position is built for a senior developer who enjoys solving complex technical problems and wants to work on systems where performance, accuracy, security, and reliability are critical.

What You Will Build

You will develop and enhance backend systems responsible for processing financial transactions and supporting core fintech services. You will work alongside architects, product managers, QA specialists, DevOps engineers, data professionals, and security teams.

Core Responsibilities

• Develop robust backend services for financial products and transaction workflows.
• Build APIs and integrations connecting fintech platforms with external financial systems.
• Design reliable services for transaction processing, account management, reconciliation, and financial data.
• Improve application performance, scalability, availability, and fault tolerance.
• Write clean, maintainable, well-tested production code.
• Participate in architecture and technical-design discussions.
• Implement automated testing and contribute to continuous integration and deployment practices.
• Investigate production issues and develop long-term technical solutions.
• Apply secure coding principles when handling financial and customer data.
• Collaborate with product teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Contribute to technical documentation and engineering standards.

Technical Background

Strong experience with one or more modern backend languages such as Java, Kotlin, Python, Go, or C# is expected, together with practical knowledge of:

• RESTful APIs and distributed systems
• SQL and relational databases
• Microservices and event-driven architectures
• Cloud platforms and containerised environments
• Git-based development workflows
• CI/CD and automated testing
• Application security and data protection

Experience developing payment, banking, fintech, or other high-volume transactional systems would be particularly valuable.
