Description
Role Overview
We are looking for a Product Data Analyst to help evaluate how users interact with digital products and identify opportunities to improve product performance, customer experience, and feature adoption.
Working closely with product managers, UX/UI designers, software engineers, and customer-facing teams, you will analyse behavioural data, define meaningful product metrics, and provide evidence to support product development decisions. Your work will help the organisation understand user journeys, identify friction points, and measure whether product changes deliver their intended results.
The successful candidate will combine analytical rigour with an understanding of digital product development. Experience with mobile applications, SaaS platforms, e-commerce, fintech products, or online financial services is welcome.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyse user behaviour across digital platforms, including acquisition, registration, onboarding, engagement, conversion, and retention.
- Develop and maintain dashboards that track product performance and key user experience indicators.
- Define and monitor product metrics such as activation rate, conversion rate, retention, churn, feature adoption, and funnel completion.
- Investigate user journey drop-offs and identify areas where interface changes or process improvements may improve outcomes.
- Work with product and engineering teams to establish event-tracking requirements and validate analytics implementation.
- Conduct cohort analysis, segmentation, and comparative analysis to understand differences between user groups.
- Support A/B testing and controlled experiments by helping define success metrics, evaluate results, and communicate limitations.
- Analyse the impact of product releases and feature changes using quantitative evidence.
- Combine behavioural data with customer feedback and operational information to develop a more complete view of product performance.
- Maintain clear documentation of metric definitions, event schemas, analytical assumptions, and reporting procedures.
- Present insights and recommendations to product stakeholders in a concise, accessible format.
Skills and Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent professional experience in data analytics, statistics, mathematics, economics, computer science, or a related field.
- Experience analysing product, customer, digital engagement, or user behaviour data.
- Strong SQL skills and practical experience querying structured datasets.
- Proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets and familiarity with a business intelligence tool such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
- Understanding of product analytics concepts, including funnels, cohorts, retention, segmentation, and conversion measurement.
- Familiarity with analytics platforms such as Google Analytics 4, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or comparable tools.
- Ability to interpret quantitative findings and communicate their implications for product decisions.
- Understanding of experimentation principles, statistical significance, and the limitations of observational data.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and effective collaboration skills.
- Professional working proficiency in English.
Additional Advantages
Experience with Python, event-based data models, mobile application analytics, experimentation platforms, or cloud data warehouses is beneficial. Familiarity with GDPR and responsible handling of user-level data is also desirable.
How You Will Contribute
You will help teams make better product decisions by replacing assumptions with measurable evidence. Your analysis will support prioritisation, reveal usability and conversion issues, and help determine which product improvements create meaningful value for users.
What We Offer
- An opportunity to influence the development of digital products through data.
- Close collaboration with product, design, engineering, and business teams.
- Exposure to modern product analytics tools and experimentation practices.
- Opportunities to develop skills in behavioural analytics, statistical analysis, and data visualisation.
- A professional environment that values evidence-based decisions and continuous improvement.
Ideal Candidate
You are a structured thinker who enjoys understanding why users behave in particular ways. You can investigate complex datasets independently, challenge misleading interpretations, and translate analytical findings into recommendations that product teams can implement and evaluate.
