A technology-led fintech organisation in Estonia is seeking a Principal Fintech Solutions Architect to shape the architecture of complex financial platforms spanning payments, digital banking, customer services, data, and third-party financial infrastructure.

This is a senior architecture position for a professional capable of translating ambitious business requirements into secure, scalable, and commercially practical technology solutions. You will operate across engineering, product, security, compliance, and executive leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Define solution architectures for complex fintech products and enterprise initiatives.
• Translate business and product requirements into scalable technical designs.
• Establish architecture across APIs, microservices, databases, cloud infrastructure, and integration layers.
• Evaluate technology options and recommend appropriate architectural approaches.
• Design solutions supporting high-volume financial transactions and customer-facing services.
• Establish standards for scalability, resilience, security, observability, and maintainability.
• Lead architecture reviews and technical discovery sessions.
• Identify technical dependencies, risks, constraints, and opportunities early in the delivery lifecycle.
• Collaborate with security and compliance teams to incorporate appropriate controls.
• Work with engineering leadership to guide implementation and resolve architectural challenges.
• Support technology modernisation and platform-transformation programmes.
• Mentor architects and senior engineers while contributing to long-term technology strategy.

Candidate Profile

• 8+ years of experience in software architecture, solutions architecture, fintech, banking technology, or related fields.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, cloud platforms, APIs, databases, and integration architecture.
• Experience designing systems for payments, digital banking, financial services, or other transaction-intensive environments.
• Strong understanding of security, reliability, scalability, and operational architecture.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to balance technical excellence with commercial and operational realities.

Technical Environment

Cloud-native architecture, microservices, APIs, event-driven systems, container platforms, distributed databases, CI/CD, observability, identity management, and automated security controls.
