A fast-growing fintech organisation in Estonia is seeking an experienced Head of Digital Payments to lead the strategic development, operational performance, and continuous improvement of its payments business.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for a payments professional who understands the full transaction lifecycle and can connect commercial strategy, technology, risk, compliance, and customer experience.

The Role

You will provide direction across payment products and capabilities, ensuring that payment services remain secure, scalable, commercially competitive, and operationally resilient. You will work closely with technology, product, finance, risk, compliance, and external financial partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the long-term payments strategy.
• Lead initiatives across payment processing, transfers, acquiring, settlement, and transaction services.
• Build and maintain relationships with banks, payment institutions, processors, and technology partners.
• Identify opportunities to improve payment speed, reliability, customer experience, and operating efficiency.
• Work with engineering teams to establish scalable payment architecture and integration capabilities.
• Oversee payment performance, operational metrics, service quality, and financial outcomes.
• Collaborate with risk and compliance teams on payment controls and regulatory requirements.
• Evaluate new payment technologies, providers, markets, and commercial opportunities.
• Lead strategic payment projects from business case through implementation.
• Present performance, opportunities, and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.

What You Bring

• Significant leadership experience in payments, fintech, banking, or financial technology.
• Strong understanding of payment processing and transaction lifecycles.
• Experience managing strategic partnerships and complex cross-functional initiatives.
• Commercially minded approach with strong analytical capabilities.
• Understanding of payment technology, APIs, risk controls, and financial operations.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Experience operating in international or regulated financial-services environments is highly valued.
