Description
We are looking for a technically minded Fraud Intelligence Specialist to strengthen the detection, investigation, and prevention of financial fraud across digital financial products.
The position is designed for an analytical professional who can work with transaction data, behavioural indicators, customer activity, operational intelligence, and technology teams to identify emerging fraud patterns and develop effective detection strategies.
Rather than relying solely on conventional case investigation, the role combines fraud analytics, transaction intelligence, risk analysis, and technology-enabled prevention.
Your Responsibilities
- Analyse transaction activity to identify unusual patterns, behavioural anomalies, and potential fraudulent activity.
- Investigate suspicious transactions, accounts, payment activity, and customer behaviour.
- Develop analytical approaches for identifying new and evolving fraud typologies.
- Monitor fraud trends and assess their potential impact on products and customers.
- Work with engineering and data teams to improve fraud-detection rules and analytical models.
- Review false-positive rates and recommend improvements to detection strategies.
- Support the development of transaction-monitoring and fraud-prevention controls.
- Analyse historical cases to identify recurring patterns and control weaknesses.
- Produce intelligence reports and management-level summaries of emerging fraud risks.
- Collaborate with compliance, AML, risk, cybersecurity, payments, and customer operations teams.
- Participate in investigations involving complex or high-value cases.
- Assist with fraud-control testing and validation.
- Recommend improvements to customer verification and transaction-control processes.
- Monitor the effectiveness of existing fraud controls and contribute to continuous optimisation.
- Maintain clear and defensible investigation records.
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have experience in fraud prevention, financial crime analytics, transaction monitoring, payments risk, banking operations, fintech, or digital financial services.
You should have:
- Strong analytical and investigative abilities.
- Experience analysing transactional or behavioural datasets.
- Understanding of common payment and digital-finance fraud patterns.
- Strong SQL or comparable data-analysis skills.
- Experience working with fraud-monitoring or risk-management systems.
- Ability to interpret complex data and identify meaningful patterns.
- Strong understanding of customer and transaction risk.
- Excellent documentation and report-writing skills.
- Ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical teams.
- Strong judgement when handling sensitive financial information.
- Experience with automated fraud detection, rules engines, or analytical models is advantageous.
Working Environment
The role provides substantial exposure to the technical and operational sides of fintech. You will collaborate with data analysts, engineers, risk professionals, compliance specialists, and product teams to develop increasingly sophisticated approaches to financial fraud prevention.
The Impact
Digital financial services depend on trust. Your work will contribute directly to protecting customers, financial transactions, and business infrastructure while helping the organisation develop more intelligent and adaptive fraud controls.
