A technology-driven fintech environment in Estonia is seeking a Settlement & Payments Specialist to support the accurate processing, reconciliation, and resolution of financial transactions across digital payment infrastructure.

This position focuses on the operational layer behind modern financial services. You will work with payment transactions, settlement files, reconciliation processes, exceptions, payment providers, and internal systems to ensure financial movements are processed accurately and issues are resolved efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor daily payment and settlement activity across relevant platforms.
• Process and verify payment and settlement instructions in accordance with established procedures.
• Investigate failed, rejected, delayed, duplicated, or unmatched transactions.
• Perform transaction and account reconciliations.
• Review settlement reports received from banking and payment partners.
• Identify discrepancies between internal records and external provider information.
• Maintain accurate records of payment exceptions and resolutions.
• Coordinate with payment providers and banking partners on operational issues.
• Escalate complex transaction problems to appropriate internal teams.
• Support payment-related investigations and operational reviews.
• Assist with testing new payment methods, providers, and transaction workflows.
• Identify opportunities to automate repetitive reconciliation and settlement activities.
• Prepare operational reports covering transaction volumes, exceptions, and settlement performance.
• Maintain clear documentation of payment procedures and escalation processes.
• Collaborate with finance, compliance, technology, and customer operations teams.

Candidate Profile

The position is suited to a professional with experience in payments, banking operations, fintech, financial services, accounting operations, or transaction processing.

Experience with SEPA payments, card processing, payment gateways, digital wallets, bank transfers, APIs, automated reconciliation, or payment-service providers would be advantageous.
