A modern fintech organization in Estonia is looking for a Data Governance Specialist to strengthen the way financial and operational data is structured, managed, documented, and used across the organization.

As fintech platforms expand, data moves through numerous systems—from customer applications and payment platforms to reporting environments, internal databases, and third-party financial services. This role will help establish consistency and accountability across those data flows.

Your Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain data-governance procedures relevant to fintech operations.
• Establish and maintain definitions for key financial and operational data elements.
• Support data-quality monitoring across critical business systems.
• Identify inconsistencies, duplication, incomplete records, and other data-quality issues.
• Work with technology and business teams to investigate the causes of data problems.
• Maintain data dictionaries, process documentation, ownership records, and governance materials.
• Support data classification and appropriate handling of sensitive financial information.
• Review data flows between internal systems and external service providers.
• Participate in projects involving new products, databases, integrations, and data platforms.
• Define practical data-quality checks and monitoring requirements.
• Assist with data reconciliation and validation exercises.
• Support internal reviews concerning data accuracy, accessibility, and consistency.
• Work with compliance and security teams on data-management requirements.
• Help improve reporting reliability through stronger data controls.
• Contribute to automation initiatives designed to reduce manual data-management activities.
