Position Overview

A forward-looking fintech organization is seeking a Director of Financial Platforms to provide strategic and operational leadership for the development of scalable digital financial infrastructure. The role will oversee platform strategy across payments, financial APIs, transaction processing, digital accounts, and technology-enabled financial services.

Key Responsibilities

• Define the strategic direction and multi-year roadmap for financial technology platforms.
• Lead initiatives involving payment infrastructure, digital accounts, APIs, and transaction-processing systems.
• Establish platform performance, reliability, scalability, and service-quality objectives.
• Coordinate engineering, product, data, security, operations, finance, and compliance stakeholders.
• Evaluate technology architecture and identify opportunities for platform modernization.
• Oversee major technology initiatives from business requirements through implementation.
• Develop business cases for new financial infrastructure and platform capabilities.
• Monitor platform KPIs, operational incidents, transaction performance, and service availability.
• Establish governance frameworks for platform changes, integrations, and technology dependencies.
• Identify opportunities to automate financial workflows and improve operational efficiency.
• Manage strategic relationships with technology and financial infrastructure partners.
• Present platform strategy, investment requirements, risks, and performance to senior leadership.

Candidate Profile

• Strong leadership experience within fintech, banking, payments, or financial technology.
• Excellent understanding of digital financial infrastructure.
• Strong strategic, commercial, and technical judgment.
• Experienced in managing complex cross-functional programs.
• Excellent communication and executive stakeholder-management capabilities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Technology, Finance, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 7+ years of experience in financial technology, banking technology, payments, or digital platforms.
• Experience managing technology products, platforms, or large-scale transformation initiatives.
• Understanding of APIs, cloud infrastructure, payment systems, data platforms, and cybersecurity.
