Role Overview
The Backend Engineer will design, develop, and maintain scalable server-side systems that power digital financial products, payment services, transaction platforms, and data-intensive fintech applications. The role requires strong software engineering fundamentals, API architecture expertise, database design capabilities, and an understanding of financial transaction lifecycles.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop secure, scalable backend services and microservices for fintech platforms.
• Design and maintain RESTful and event-driven APIs supporting payments, accounts, transfers, and financial workflows.
• Build transaction-processing systems capable of handling high volumes with low latency.
• Implement authentication, authorization, encryption, and secure data-access mechanisms.
• Design efficient relational and NoSQL database structures.
• Integrate third-party payment gateways, banking APIs, identity platforms, and financial service providers.
• Develop automated testing, monitoring, logging, and error-handling frameworks.
• Optimize application performance, reliability, and resource utilization.
• Collaborate with product, frontend, DevOps, cybersecurity, compliance, and data teams.
• Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, technical documentation, and production support.

Candidate Profile

• Strong proficiency in Python, Java, Go, Node.js, or a comparable backend language.
• Solid knowledge of SQL and database architecture.
• Experience with REST APIs, microservices, message queues, and distributed systems.
• Understanding of cloud environments and containerized deployments.
• Knowledge of software security and financial transaction processing.
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving capabilities.
