Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect to design and oversee technology solutions that align with business requirements and technical standards. The successful candidate will translate complex business needs into practical architectural designs, guide engineering teams, and ensure that applications and services integrate effectively across the organisation.

This role requires strong technical expertise, architectural judgment, and the ability to collaborate with business stakeholders and engineering teams in a remote working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse business requirements and translate them into scalable solution architectures.
• Design application components, system integrations, APIs, and data flows.
• Define architectural standards, technical patterns, and design principles for engineering teams.
• Evaluate technology options and recommend solutions based on security, performance, cost, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with product managers, developers, business analysts, and technical leads.
• Review solution designs and provide architectural guidance throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Identify technical risks, integration dependencies, and opportunities to simplify system complexity.
• Ensure that solutions meet relevant security, availability, reliability, and performance requirements.
• Support the development of technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and implementation roadmaps.
• Participate in design reviews, technical discussions, and architecture governance activities.
• Promote reusable components, sound engineering practices, and continuous technical improvement.

Requirements and Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in software engineering, systems design, or solution architecture.
• Demonstrated experience designing complex applications or integrated digital platforms.
• Strong understanding of APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and system integration patterns.
• Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Knowledge of databases, messaging systems, authentication, and application security principles.
• Familiarity with architectural documentation methods and modelling tools.
• Ability to assess technical trade-offs and communicate recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with distributed engineering teams.
