About the Position

A growing fintech business in Estonia is looking for a Senior Payments Operations & Optimisation Manager to oversee and continuously improve the operational performance of its payment ecosystem.

The role sits at the centre of payment operations, financial infrastructure, customer experience, risk, and technology. You will ensure payment processes remain efficient, reliable, transparent, and scalable as transaction volumes and product complexity increase.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and optimise end-to-end payment operations across relevant payment channels and providers.
• Monitor transaction success rates, declines, processing times, settlement performance, and operational exceptions.
• Identify payment friction and implement initiatives that improve conversion and customer experience.
• Coordinate with payment providers, banking partners, technology vendors, and internal operational teams.
• Investigate payment failures, reconciliation breaks, settlement discrepancies, and recurring operational issues.
• Establish operational controls covering payment execution, reconciliation, refunds, chargebacks, and exceptions.
• Analyse payment performance data and develop actionable operational reports.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to improve payment workflows and automation.
• Support payment-provider onboarding, testing, integration, and performance reviews.
• Establish service-level expectations and monitor partner performance against agreed standards.
• Develop contingency procedures for payment disruptions and operational incidents.
• Contribute to new payment-method and market-expansion initiatives.

What You Bring

• 6+ years of experience in payments, fintech operations, banking operations, payment processing, or financial services.
• Strong understanding of payment lifecycles, settlement, reconciliation, chargebacks, and transaction processing.
• Experience working with payment service providers and banking partners.
• Strong analytical skills and confidence working with operational and transaction data.
• Experience improving operational processes through automation and technology.
• Strong problem-solving and incident-management capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• High attention to detail with a strong understanding of financial controls.
