We are seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer who can combine advanced frontend development skills with architectural thinking, technical leadership, and a strong commitment to engineering quality.

About the Role

As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you will take ownership of frontend architecture and the delivery of complex web applications. You will help establish technical standards, improve application performance, and build reusable frontend foundations that support multiple product teams.

You will collaborate with engineering leadership, product managers, designers, and backend specialists to shape technical solutions, guide implementation decisions, and ensure that frontend systems remain scalable, accessible, and maintainable as the business grows.

Candidates should have deep expertise in React or Angular, with experience in both frameworks considered an advantage.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable frontend architectures for complex, customer-facing and enterprise applications.
• Establish reusable component patterns, design system principles, and frontend engineering standards.
• Develop high-quality applications using React or Angular, TypeScript, and modern web technologies.
• Evaluate architectural approaches for state management, routing, data fetching, and modular application design.
• Improve application performance through bundle optimisation, lazy loading, rendering analysis, and effective caching strategies.
• Establish frontend testing practices covering unit, integration, and end-to-end scenarios.
• Work with backend and platform teams to define API contracts and improve client-server integration.
• Apply secure development practices for authentication flows, session handling, permissions, and sensitive application data.
• Identify technical debt and lead initiatives to improve maintainability, consistency, and development efficiency.
• Conduct code reviews, mentor other engineers, and share technical knowledge across the engineering team.
• Collaborate with design teams to improve accessibility, responsive behaviour, and design system adoption.
• Investigate complex production issues and coordinate technical improvements across teams.
• Contribute to engineering roadmaps, technical planning, and decisions about frontend tooling and frameworks.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Substantial experience building and maintaining production-grade web applications.
• Advanced knowledge of React or Angular and strong proficiency in TypeScript.
• Excellent understanding of JavaScript, browser behaviour, rendering, and web application architecture.
• Experience designing reusable components, modular frontend systems, and maintainable codebases.
• Strong knowledge of API integration, application state management, and asynchronous data flows.
• Experience with frontend testing strategies and automated quality checks.
• Familiarity with build tooling, CI/CD workflows, and modern deployment practices.
• Understanding of web accessibility, performance optimisation, and secure frontend development.
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and contribute to technical design decisions.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Professional proficiency in English; Estonian language skills are an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional experience with both React and Angular.
• Familiarity with micro-frontends, monorepos, or large-scale frontend platforms.
• Experience with Next.js, server-side rendering, or other advanced rendering strategies.
• Knowledge of design system governance and shared component library development.
• Experience working in fintech, banking, SaaS, or other environments with demanding security and reliability requirements.
• Familiarity with accessibility standards, web performance metrics, and frontend observability.
• Previous involvement in technical leadership, mentoring, or frontend modernisation projects.
