We are seeking a highly capable Senior Fintech Platform Developer to engineer secure, scalable, and resilient financial technology platforms in Estonia. This opportunity is suited to a developer who combines strong software-engineering fundamentals with a practical understanding of financial systems, transaction processing, APIs, and distributed architectures.

You will work across the complete development lifecycle, contributing to architecture, implementation, testing, deployment, and continuous optimisation of fintech products.

The Role

You will build backend services and platform capabilities supporting digital financial products, payment workflows, account services, financial data, and third-party integrations. The position requires someone comfortable working on technically demanding systems where reliability, security, and data integrity are critical.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable fintech applications and services.
• Build reliable APIs and backend services for financial products.
• Develop transaction-processing and account-management capabilities.
• Integrate third-party payment providers, banking services, and financial APIs.
• Design services capable of handling high-volume transactional workloads.
• Implement authentication, authorisation, encryption, and other security controls.
• Develop automated tests and participate in code reviews.
• Diagnose performance, reliability, and production issues.
• Collaborate with product managers, architects, DevOps engineers, security specialists, and analysts.
• Contribute to technical architecture and engineering standards.
• Improve system observability, monitoring, logging, and operational resilience.
• Maintain clear technical documentation.
• Participate in continuous improvement of development practices and platform performance.

Technical Environment

Experience with several of the following is valuable:

• Java, Kotlin, C#, Go, or Python
• Spring Boot, .NET, or comparable frameworks
• REST and event-driven APIs
• PostgreSQL and NoSQL databases
• Kafka or comparable messaging systems
• Docker and Kubernetes
• AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
• CI/CD pipelines
• Git-based development workflows
• Automated testing
• Distributed systems and microservices

Candidate Profile

• 5+ years of professional software-development experience.
• Experience building production-grade financial, payment, SaaS, or other high-reliability systems.
• Strong knowledge of backend engineering and API design.
• Understanding of transactional consistency and data integrity.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving abilities.
• Security-conscious approach to software development.
• Comfortable working in Agile and cross-functional engineering environments.
• Strong English communication skills.
