Position Overview

A digital financial-services organization is seeking a Security Engineer to protect applications, infrastructure, APIs, data environments, and financial technology platforms against evolving cybersecurity threats. The role will combine application security, cloud security, vulnerability management, monitoring, and secure engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement security controls across fintech applications and infrastructure.
• Conduct security assessments of applications, APIs, cloud environments, and third-party integrations.
• Identify vulnerabilities and coordinate remediation with engineering teams.
• Develop secure-by-design practices throughout the software-development lifecycle.
• Monitor security events and investigate suspicious technical activity.
• Support identity and access-management controls, privileged-access management, and authentication mechanisms.
• Conduct vulnerability assessments and penetration-testing coordination.
• Establish security standards for APIs, databases, cloud services, and application infrastructure.
• Collaborate with engineering, DevOps, compliance, risk, and operations teams.
• Contribute to incident-response procedures and cybersecurity investigations.
• Develop security documentation, technical standards, and control procedures.
• Monitor emerging cybersecurity threats affecting financial technology.
• Support security testing before major product releases and infrastructure changes.

Candidate Profile

• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles and modern infrastructure.
• Excellent analytical and incident-investigation capabilities.
• Security-conscious approach to software and systems engineering.
• Ability to communicate technical security risks to both engineers and business stakeholders.
• Strong understanding of authentication, authorization, encryption, network security, and cloud security.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of professional cybersecurity or security-engineering experience.
• Practical knowledge of cloud platforms, Linux, networking, APIs, and application-security principles.
• Familiarity with SIEM, vulnerability-management, IAM, DevSecOps, and security-monitoring technologies.
• Relevant certifications such as Security+, CISSP, CISM, CEH, or cloud-security certifications are advantageous.
