Description
A technology-driven financial markets organisation in Estonia is seeking a highly analytical Quantitative Analyst to support the development of quantitative models, trading analytics, and data-driven solutions across its financial-market activities. This position is suited to a professional with a strong mathematical foundation and practical interest in applying statistical and computational methods to real-world market problems.
The successful candidate will work with large financial datasets, develop analytical models, evaluate market behaviour, and collaborate closely with trading, risk, technology, and research teams. The role requires a combination of quantitative reasoning, programming capability, financial-market knowledge, and disciplined model development.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop quantitative models for financial-market analysis, pricing, forecasting, and risk assessment.
- Analyse historical and real-time market data to identify trends, relationships, and statistical patterns.
- Design, test, and validate quantitative methodologies before implementation.
- Support the development of systematic trading signals and analytical frameworks.
- Conduct statistical analysis of price movements, volatility, liquidity, correlations, and market behaviour.
- Build tools and models that improve trading analysis, execution, and decision-making.
- Perform backtesting and evaluate model performance under different market conditions.
- Identify model limitations, statistical biases, and potential sources of performance deterioration.
- Collaborate with traders, researchers, developers, and risk specialists on quantitative projects.
- Maintain accurate documentation of methodologies, assumptions, datasets, and model results.
- Monitor the ongoing performance and stability of quantitative models.
- Develop analytical dashboards, reports, and visualisations for internal stakeholders.
- Contribute to improvements in data quality, modelling processes, and quantitative infrastructure.
Candidate Profile
- Professional experience in quantitative analysis, financial engineering, systematic trading, risk modelling, or a related field.
- Strong knowledge of statistics, probability, optimisation, and mathematical modelling.
- Strong programming ability in Python, with experience in SQL, R, C++, or similar languages advantageous.
- Understanding of financial markets, trading instruments, and market-data structures.
- Experience with backtesting, statistical modelling, or quantitative research.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work with large and complex datasets.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to model accuracy.
- Ability to communicate quantitative concepts clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Relevant degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, computer science, physics, financial engineering, or another quantitative discipline.
