Description
Company Overview
The organisation focuses on developing digital products that address customer needs, improve business processes, and deliver measurable value. Its product teams work across technology, design, analytics, operations, and commercial functions to identify opportunities, define product priorities, and deliver solutions that remain useful as customer expectations and business requirements evolve.
The organisation values customer-focused thinking, structured product planning, evidence-based decision-making, and collaboration across distributed teams. It seeks a Product Manager who can connect business objectives with customer needs and technical capabilities while maintaining a clear direction for product development.
The successful candidate will contribute to the product lifecycle from discovery and opportunity assessment through roadmap planning, development coordination, launch preparation, and ongoing performance evaluation. The working environment encourages clear ownership, practical experimentation, transparent prioritisation, and continuous improvement.
Role Summary
The Remote Product Manager will be responsible for defining product priorities, maintaining the product roadmap, and coordinating the delivery of digital product improvements. The role requires a combination of strategic thinking, customer research, analytical reasoning, stakeholder management, and practical execution.
The successful candidate will gather and evaluate customer feedback, examine product usage data, assess market opportunities, and translate business objectives into clearly defined product initiatives. Working closely with designers, engineers, analysts, and commercial stakeholders, the Product Manager will ensure that product requirements are understood, priorities are aligned, and delivery decisions reflect the expected customer and business value.
This position also involves monitoring product performance after release, identifying adoption or usability issues, and using measurable outcomes to guide future improvements. The ideal candidate can balance competing requests, explain trade-offs, and maintain a realistic roadmap without losing sight of the broader product strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a product strategy that aligns customer needs, business objectives, technical capabilities, and longer-term organisational priorities.
- Own and regularly review the product roadmap, defining major initiatives, expected outcomes, dependencies, and indicative delivery priorities.
- Conduct customer and stakeholder research to understand user problems, unmet needs, recurring requests, and opportunities for product improvement.
- Analyse product usage data, customer feedback, market information, and performance indicators to identify areas requiring attention or investment.
- Translate product strategy into prioritised initiatives, feature proposals, user stories, acceptance criteria, and clear delivery objectives.
- Work closely with UX/UI designers to define user journeys, assess usability concerns, review prototypes, and ensure that proposed solutions address validated customer needs.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to assess technical feasibility, clarify implementation requirements, understand dependencies, and evaluate delivery trade-offs.
- Maintain a prioritised product backlog and ensure that requirements are sufficiently clear before development work begins.
- Facilitate product planning, refinement, prioritisation, and review sessions with relevant technical and business stakeholders.
- Establish clear success measures for product initiatives, including adoption, engagement, conversion, retention, customer satisfaction, or operational efficiency where appropriate.
- Coordinate product releases with engineering, design, marketing, customer support, operations, and other relevant teams.
- Communicate roadmap changes, delivery expectations, product decisions, and dependencies to stakeholders in a timely and transparent manner.
- Evaluate competing requests from customers, internal teams, and business leaders using consistent prioritisation criteria.
- Prepare business cases and product proposals that explain the problem, target users, expected benefits, risks, assumptions, and implementation considerations.
- Monitor product performance following release and use qualitative and quantitative evidence to determine whether intended outcomes have been achieved.
- Identify opportunities for controlled experiments, usability testing, and iterative improvements before committing to larger product changes.
- Maintain product documentation, decision records, requirement specifications, release notes, and supporting materials.
- Identify risks affecting product quality, delivery schedules, customer experience, or alignment with business objectives and coordinate appropriate responses.
- Support the product discovery process by helping teams distinguish validated customer problems from assumptions or isolated feature requests.
- Ensure that accessibility, security, privacy, reliability, and relevant compliance considerations are incorporated into product discussions.
- Review competitor activity and industry developments to identify relevant product opportunities without relying on competitor imitation as the primary strategy.
- Promote a shared understanding of product goals across remote teams by maintaining clear communication and accessible documentation.
- Contribute to continuous improvement in product management processes, prioritisation practices, stakeholder engagement, and outcome measurement.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in product management, digital product development, product ownership, or a closely related role.
- Experience developing product roadmaps and translating strategic objectives into prioritised delivery plans.
- Strong understanding of product discovery, customer research, requirements definition, backlog management, and iterative development.
- Ability to write clear product requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and product specifications.
- Experience working with software engineers, designers, analysts, and business stakeholders in cross-functional teams.
- Familiarity with Agile product development methods, including Scrum or Kanban, and practical experience participating in planning and review activities.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret product metrics, user behaviour, customer feedback, and business performance data.
- Understanding of prioritisation methods and the ability to evaluate impact, effort, risk, dependencies, and customer value.
- Experience using product management and collaboration tools such as Jira, Linear, Confluence, Productboard, or comparable platforms.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to explain product decisions and trade-offs to different audiences.
- Ability to manage competing stakeholder expectations while maintaining a clear, evidence-based product direction.
- Good organisational skills, sound judgement, and the ability to manage multiple initiatives without losing visibility of important dependencies.
- Awareness of usability, accessibility, privacy, security, and product quality considerations.
- A degree in business, information systems, computer science, product design, or a related discipline is advantageous; equivalent professional experience is also valued.
- Professional proficiency in English is required; knowledge of Estonian is an advantage.
- Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment and collaborate effectively across distributed teams.
Benefits
- Fully remote working arrangement within Estonia.
- Full-time, permanent employment with responsibility for product direction and delivery priorities.
- Opportunities to influence product strategy, roadmap development, customer experience, and business outcomes.
- Collaboration with engineering, design, analytics, and commercial professionals across the product lifecycle.
- Opportunities to develop expertise in product discovery, experimentation, prioritisation, and performance measurement.
- A working environment that values customer insight, transparent communication, and continuous improvement.
- Opportunities to contribute ideas, evaluate new approaches, and improve how product decisions are made.
