Role Summary

The Payments Product Manager will lead the development of merchant-focused payment products, including payment acceptance tools, transaction management features, settlement visibility and payment integration capabilities. The position requires a strong understanding of payment operations, merchant needs and technical product delivery.

The successful candidate will work across engineering, commercial, risk and compliance functions to improve payment performance, simplify merchant onboarding and deliver products that support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Define product strategy and roadmaps for merchant payment solutions.

• Gather requirements from merchants, commercial teams and payment operations specialists.

• Translate business needs into product specifications, user stories and measurable acceptance criteria.

• Collaborate with engineering teams on payment APIs, checkout experiences and third-party integrations.

• Improve transaction approval rates, payment reliability and visibility into settlement processes.

• Evaluate merchant onboarding journeys and identify opportunities to reduce friction.

• Monitor product performance using payment success rates, processing volumes, integration adoption and merchant retention.

• Coordinate product releases, acceptance testing and post-launch reviews.

• Work with risk and compliance teams to address fraud prevention, payment security and applicable regulatory requirements.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Computer Science or a related field.

• At least four years of product management experience in payments, merchant acquiring, payment gateways or fintech.

• Good understanding of payment processing, settlement workflows, payment APIs and merchant requirements.

• Experience working with technical teams to deliver API-based products and integrations.

• Familiarity with payment security, fraud controls and relevant financial services compliance considerations.

• Ability to use product analytics and customer feedback to prioritise improvements.

• Strong communication, problem-solving and cross-functional coordination skills.
