We are seeking a highly accomplished Lead Fintech Platform Engineer to take technical ownership of the infrastructure powering a new generation of digital financial services.

This position is designed for an engineer who combines deep backend expertise with strong architectural judgement. You will help establish engineering standards, evolve core platform capabilities, and work with product and infrastructure teams to deliver secure, resilient, high-performance financial technology.

Your Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of core fintech platform services.
• Build scalable APIs and backend services supporting financial transactions.
• Establish engineering patterns for distributed and event-driven systems.
• Improve platform reliability, observability, performance, and fault tolerance.
• Collaborate with architects on technical strategy and long-term platform evolution.
• Work with product teams to convert complex financial requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Develop integrations with payment processors, banking infrastructure, identity providers, and external platforms.
• Strengthen automated testing, CI/CD, deployment, and release practices.
• Investigate complex production issues and implement permanent technical improvements.
• Mentor engineers and contribute to technical standards across the organisation.
• Participate in architecture reviews and major technology decisions.

Technical Environment

Experience with technologies such as Java, Kotlin, Go, Python, PostgreSQL, Kafka, Docker, Kubernetes, REST APIs, cloud infrastructure, and distributed systems would be highly valuable.

Candidate Profile

• 7+ years of professional software-engineering experience.
• Strong backend development and systems-design background.
• Experience building high-availability production platforms.
• Understanding of transaction processing or other mission-critical systems.
• Strong knowledge of cloud-native development and modern engineering practices.
• Experience within fintech, payments, banking, or financial infrastructure is advantageous.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
