Position Summary

We are looking for a Forex Trading Software Engineer to develop and support the backend systems that connect trading applications, market-data providers, broker infrastructure, and internal financial services. The position centres on dependable software integration, efficient data processing, transaction integrity, and the performance of systems operating in a time-sensitive trading environment.

The successful candidate will work on software components that help ensure trading requests are processed correctly, system events are recorded consistently, and operational teams have the technical information needed to monitor platform activity. This role is appropriate for an engineer who enjoys solving complex integration problems and building robust services for financial applications.

Core Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services supporting foreign exchange trading workflows and broker connectivity.

• Implement API integrations for market prices, account data, order submission, trade confirmations, and transaction reporting.

• Develop and maintain event-driven services for processing trading events and distributing relevant updates across connected applications.

• Work with message queues, caching layers, and database systems to improve processing efficiency and service resilience.

• Investigate latency, connectivity failures, duplicate events, inconsistent records, and other integration-related problems.

• Implement appropriate validation, error handling, retry mechanisms, and recovery procedures for external service dependencies.

• Support reconciliation between order records, execution events, and transaction data where required by the platform.

• Monitor application performance and contribute to improvements in observability, logging, alerting, and incident response.

• Develop automated unit, integration, and performance tests for critical trading-related services.

• Collaborate with infrastructure, security, QA, and trading operations teams during deployment and production support.

• Maintain engineering documentation covering API contracts, system dependencies, failure scenarios, and recovery processes.

Qualifications and Technical Experience

• Degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.

• Professional experience developing backend applications with Java, C#, Python, C++, Go, or a comparable language.

• Practical knowledge of REST APIs, WebSockets, asynchronous programming, and distributed systems.

• Experience with SQL databases and an understanding of data consistency, transaction management, and query optimisation.

• Familiarity with Linux, Git, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and application monitoring tools.

• Understanding of concurrency, fault tolerance, service reliability, and performance troubleshooting.

• Ability to investigate complex technical issues independently while communicating findings clearly to colleagues.

Experience with FIX protocol, broker connectivity, electronic trading systems, low-latency processing, or real-time financial data is highly desirable. Knowledge of cloud platforms, Kafka or comparable messaging technologies, and automated deployment practices would also be valuable.
