Role Summary

The Fintech Vendor Risk & Third-Party Assurance Specialist will manage risk assessment and oversight activities relating to external vendors and service providers supporting the organisation’s financial technology operations.

The position involves conducting vendor assessments, reviewing security and operational documentation, monitoring third-party performance and coordinating remediation activities. The successful candidate will work with procurement, information security, compliance, legal and technology teams to ensure that external service providers meet established operational and risk management expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate third-party risk assessments for technology vendors and financial service providers.

• Evaluate potential operational, cybersecurity, regulatory and business continuity risks associated with external providers.

• Review vendor documentation, security policies and relevant assurance reports.

• Support due diligence activities before new technology providers are approved.

• Maintain an accurate register of vendors, risk assessments and review schedules.

• Assess third-party service arrangements involving cloud infrastructure, payment systems and financial applications.

• Coordinate with information security teams on vendor security assessments.

• Monitor vendor performance against agreed service levels and contractual requirements.

• Track identified control weaknesses and coordinate remediation activities with relevant stakeholders.

• Support periodic reassessments of critical suppliers and external service providers.

• Review business continuity and disaster recovery arrangements maintained by important vendors.

• Assist with the preparation of third-party risk reports for management and internal governance committees.

• Coordinate requests for supporting evidence during internal audits and compliance reviews.

• Monitor changes in vendor relationships that may introduce new operational or technology risks.

• Support the development and improvement of third-party risk management procedures.

• Work with procurement and legal teams to ensure risk requirements are appropriately reflected in vendor agreements.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Finance, Information Technology, Business Administration or a related discipline.

• Previous experience in vendor risk management, third-party assurance, technology risk or financial services compliance.

• Understanding of third-party risk assessment methodologies and vendor due diligence procedures.

• Familiarity with cybersecurity controls, data protection and technology service arrangements.

• Knowledge of cloud service providers, payment processors and financial technology vendors.

• Understanding of business continuity, operational resilience and information security principles.

• Experience reviewing security questionnaires, audit reports and vendor compliance documentation.

• Familiarity with ISO 27001, SOC 2 or similar assurance frameworks is advantageous.

• Strong analytical, organisational and documentation skills.

• Ability to evaluate risk information and communicate findings clearly.

• Good stakeholder management and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to work independently and coordinate assessments in a remote environment.
