Position Overview

An established technology-focused financial services business in Estonia is looking for a Fintech Software Developer to build, maintain, and enhance applications supporting digital banking, payment processing, and financial account management.

The role involves developing secure and scalable software, integrating financial services through APIs, and improving the performance of systems that handle sensitive customer and transaction data. The successful candidate will collaborate with product, quality assurance, and infrastructure specialists to deliver reliable financial technology solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain software components used in digital banking and fintech applications.

• Build and integrate RESTful APIs connecting payment providers, banking platforms, identity verification services, and internal systems.

• Implement secure transaction workflows, account management features, and automated financial processing functions.

• Write maintainable, well-documented code using established software engineering standards.

• Investigate bugs, diagnose performance bottlenecks, and resolve technical issues affecting application reliability.

• Participate in code reviews, automated testing, deployment activities, and continuous integration processes.

• Apply appropriate security practices to authentication, authorisation, data protection, and API access.

• Work with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into practical technical solutions.

• Contribute to system documentation, technical specifications, and ongoing improvements to development workflows.

Required Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.

• Professional experience developing web applications, backend services, or financial technology software.

• Proficiency in at least one relevant programming language, such as Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, or TypeScript.

• Experience with relational databases, SQL, API integrations, and version-control systems such as Git.

• Understanding of software testing, application security, and scalable system design.

• Familiarity with cloud environments, containerisation, and CI/CD pipelines is an advantage.

• Knowledge of payment processing, banking integrations, or financial data systems is desirable.

Technical Environment

The role may involve cloud-hosted applications, microservices, relational databases, API gateways, automated testing frameworks, and monitoring tools. Candidates should be comfortable learning new technologies and working within an established engineering workflow.
