A technology-focused financial services organisation in Estonia is looking for a Fintech Security Engineering Manager to strengthen the security engineering function responsible for protecting critical financial platforms, customer data, applications, and infrastructure.

The role combines technical security leadership with people management. You will work alongside engineering, cloud, infrastructure, compliance, risk, and product teams to embed security throughout the software and infrastructure lifecycle.

The Engineering Mission

Build a security engineering capability that enables rapid product development without compromising the confidentiality, integrity, or availability of financial systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a team of security engineers and specialists.
• Establish security engineering standards across applications, infrastructure, and cloud environments.
• Integrate security practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Lead threat modelling and security architecture reviews for new fintech products.
• Develop application, API, cloud, and infrastructure security strategies.
• Establish vulnerability-management and security remediation processes.
• Work with engineering teams to strengthen authentication, authorisation, secrets management, and access controls.
• Support security monitoring, detection engineering, incident response, and investigation capabilities.
• Evaluate security risks associated with third-party technologies and integrations.
• Collaborate with compliance and risk teams on security controls and assurance requirements.
• Establish meaningful security metrics and reporting for senior leadership.
• Drive security automation and continuous improvement.
• Mentor engineers and establish a strong security culture across technical teams.
• Participate in major architectural and technology decisions where security considerations are material.

Candidate Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in cybersecurity or security engineering.
• Demonstrated experience leading or managing technical security teams.
• Strong knowledge of cloud security, application security, APIs, identity, infrastructure, and network security.
• Experience securing production systems in fintech, banking, SaaS, or another high-value technology environment.
• Strong understanding of secure software development practices.
• Experience with threat modelling, vulnerability management, security monitoring, and incident response.
• Ability to work effectively with software engineers and technical architects.
• Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder-management capabilities.
• Relevant security certifications are advantageous.
