A technology-focused fintech organisation in Estonia is seeking a Fintech Security Engineering Lead to strengthen application, cloud, infrastructure, and financial-platform security.

This is a hands-on strategic position for a security professional who understands that fintech security requires more than conventional cybersecurity controls. Financial platforms must protect sensitive data and transactions while maintaining availability, regulatory compliance, developer velocity, and exceptional user experience.

The Role

You will lead security engineering initiatives across cloud infrastructure, applications, APIs, identity systems, data environments, and financial transaction platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain security architecture for fintech applications and infrastructure.
• Lead application security, cloud security, API security, and infrastructure protection initiatives.
• Establish secure software-development practices across engineering teams.
• Conduct threat modelling for financial products, APIs, and transaction workflows.
• Strengthen identity and access management, privileged access, and authentication controls.
• Develop security monitoring and detection capabilities across critical platforms.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to embed security into CI/CD pipelines.
• Assess vulnerabilities, security risks, third-party integrations, and technology dependencies.
• Support incident response, security investigations, and remediation programmes.
• Establish security engineering standards aligned with regulatory and industry requirements.
• Mentor security engineers and work with developers to improve secure engineering practices.

Ideal Candidate

You bring substantial experience in cybersecurity, security engineering, cloud security, application security, or financial technology.

Strong knowledge of AWS/Azure/GCP, Kubernetes, IAM, DevSecOps, API security, cryptography, threat modelling, vulnerability management, and security monitoring would be highly relevant.

Experience within banking, payments, fintech, digital assets, or other regulated technology environments is an advantage.
