Description

Position Overview

A fintech organisation operating in Estonia is seeking an experienced Fintech Product Experience Designer to improve the end-to-end experience of its digital financial products. The position focuses on understanding customer behaviour, mapping complex user journeys, and designing seamless interactions across onboarding, account management, payments, and ongoing financial activities.

The successful candidate will work at the intersection of user research, interaction design, service design, and product strategy. By combining qualitative research, usability testing, and product analytics, the designer will help identify friction points and develop solutions that improve customer satisfaction, task completion, and product adoption.

Key Responsibilities

  • Map end-to-end customer journeys across digital banking, payment processing, account servicing, and other financial workflows.

  • Conduct interviews, usability studies, surveys, and other research activities to understand user behaviour and unmet needs.

  • Translate research findings into personas where appropriate, journey maps, service flows, interaction models, and design recommendations.

  • Design and prototype complex product interactions, ensuring that financial tasks remain clear and accessible.

  • Identify friction points in registration, identity verification, payment authorisation, transaction history, and account management experiences.

  • Collaborate with product managers, engineers, data analysts, and compliance specialists to develop feasible and user-centred solutions.

  • Define usability hypotheses and evaluate design changes through testing, customer feedback, and product performance metrics.

  • Apply accessibility and inclusive design principles to support users with different abilities and levels of digital confidence.

  • Contribute to design systems and shared experience standards across multiple financial products.

  • Ensure that interfaces communicate fees, transaction statuses, warnings, and other important financial information clearly.

  • Present research insights, design proposals, and recommendations to stakeholders.

  • Monitor product feedback after launch and recommend iterative improvements based on observed user needs.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in UX Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Service Design, Psychology, Product Design, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.

  • Demonstrated experience in UX/UI design, product experience design, interaction design, or digital service design.

  • Strong portfolio showing research-led design decisions, complex user flows, prototypes, and measurable or clearly articulated outcomes.

  • Proficiency with Figma and relevant research, prototyping, and collaboration tools.

  • Practical knowledge of user research methods, usability testing, information architecture, and accessibility.

  • Ability to interpret customer feedback and product metrics to prioritise design improvements.

  • Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary product and engineering teams.

  • Strong presentation skills and the ability to communicate design rationale to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience with digital banking, payments, financial applications, or regulated products is highly desirable.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is a systems thinker who understands that a strong financial product must be both easy to use and reliable. They can move between detailed interface decisions and broader customer journeys, validate assumptions through research, and work collaboratively to deliver improvements that benefit customers and the business.

What the Opportunity Offers

This role provides an opportunity to influence the design direction of digital financial services in Estonia. The successful candidate will contribute to product discovery, customer research, experience strategy, and iterative design improvements while helping make financial technology more accessible and easier to use.
