Position Overview

We are seeking a technically proficient Open Banking Integration Specialist to support the development and maintenance of secure connections between financial institutions, fintech applications, and third-party service providers. The successful candidate will work on integrations that enable account information access, payment initiation, financial data exchange, and automated banking workflows.

This position is suited to a professional who understands API-based financial services and can translate integration requirements into reliable technical solutions. You will collaborate with engineering, product, security, and compliance teams to improve interoperability while maintaining high standards of data protection and system reliability.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain integrations with banking APIs, payment service providers, and third-party financial platforms.

• Implement API authentication, authorisation, consent management, and secure data exchange procedures.

• Support open banking workflows involving account information services and payment initiation.

• Investigate API failures, connectivity issues, inconsistent responses, and transaction processing errors.

• Conduct integration testing and validate functionality across development, testing, and production environments.

• Maintain technical documentation, API specifications, configuration records, and troubleshooting procedures.

• Collaborate with software developers and product teams to improve integration performance and reliability.

• Apply appropriate security controls and support compliance with GDPR and relevant financial service requirements.

• Monitor API changes and coordinate integration updates when external providers modify their services.

Candidate Requirements

• A degree or equivalent practical experience in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.

• Experience with API integration, backend development, or financial technology systems.

• Strong understanding of REST APIs, JSON, OAuth 2.0, webhooks, and secure authentication.

• Familiarity with Python, Java, TypeScript, or another suitable programming language.

• Experience with API testing tools, version control, and relational databases.

• Understanding of open banking, PSD2-related concepts, payment initiation, or financial data connectivity is advantageous.

• Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to communicate technical issues clearly.

• Awareness of data privacy, access management, and secure software development practices.
