Role Summary

The Core Banking Integration Engineer will design, implement and maintain integrations between core banking platforms, digital financial applications and external service providers. The role focuses on reliable data exchange, transaction processing, API connectivity and system interoperability to ensure banking services operate consistently across connected platforms.

Working with software engineering, product, infrastructure and quality assurance teams, the successful candidate will help deliver secure integrations that support evolving business and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain integrations between core banking systems and digital banking applications.

• Build and support APIs for account services, transaction processing, customer data and payment workflows.

• Implement data mapping, validation and transformation across banking platforms.

• Investigate integration failures, transaction discrepancies and system communication issues.

• Develop automated tests for API functionality, data consistency and integration reliability.

• Collaborate with technical teams to improve system performance, fault tolerance and service availability.

• Apply secure authentication, authorisation and encryption practices to banking integrations.

• Maintain technical documentation, integration specifications and operational procedures.

• Support deployments, incident investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related technical field.

• At least three years of experience in software integration, backend engineering or financial systems development.

• Strong programming skills in Java, C#, Kotlin or another suitable backend language.

• Practical experience with REST APIs, messaging systems, relational databases and integration patterns.

• Understanding of banking transactions, account structures, ledgers or payment processing.

• Familiarity with distributed systems, automated testing and CI/CD pipelines.

• Knowledge of API security, monitoring and troubleshooting practices.

• Strong analytical, communication and problem-solving skills.
