Role Summary

The Core Banking Business Systems Analyst will translate banking operations and business requirements into functional specifications for core banking systems and related applications. The role involves analysing workflows, documenting system behaviour, coordinating testing and supporting changes that improve the accuracy and efficiency of banking operations.

The successful candidate will bridge the gap between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, ensuring that platform changes address operational needs and maintain appropriate controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather and document requirements for core banking functionality and related financial applications.

• Analyse account opening, account maintenance, transaction processing and reconciliation workflows.

• Prepare functional specifications, process maps, user stories and acceptance criteria.

• Assess the impact of proposed system changes on banking operations, integrations and downstream reporting.

• Coordinate with developers, testers, product teams and operational stakeholders throughout implementation.

• Develop test scenarios and support functional, integration and user acceptance testing.

• Investigate system defects, data inconsistencies and process exceptions.

• Validate that delivered functionality meets agreed business requirements.

• Maintain system documentation, process guides and change records.

• Identify opportunities to improve banking workflows, data quality and operational controls.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Information Systems, Computer Science or a related discipline.

• At least three years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis or banking technology.

• Understanding of core banking processes, account management, transaction lifecycles and reconciliation.

• Experience preparing functional requirements, process documentation and test cases.

• Familiarity with SQL, data analysis and API-based integrations is an advantage.

• Knowledge of Agile delivery methods and tools for managing requirements and defects.

• Strong stakeholder communication, analytical reasoning and documentation skills.

• Experience working with core banking software or financial services platforms is highly desirable.
