Position Overview

We are looking for a technically strong Engineer to design, develop, and maintain scalable infrastructure supporting modern financial applications.

The successful candidate will work on systems where reliability, security, data integrity, observability, and transaction performance are critical. This position is particularly suited to an engineer interested in building infrastructure capable of supporting high-volume financial transactions and interconnected fintech services.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend services for fintech applications.
• Build reliable APIs connecting payment, banking, identity, and financial-data systems.
• Develop event-driven services and transaction-processing workflows.
• Implement robust data-validation and reconciliation mechanisms.
• Improve application performance, scalability, and fault tolerance.
• Collaborate with security teams to strengthen application and infrastructure controls.
• Develop automated testing and deployment pipelines.
• Monitor production systems and investigate technical incidents.
• Participate in architecture reviews and engineering standards development.
• Document technical systems, APIs, dependencies, and operational procedures.
• Contribute to cloud infrastructure and infrastructure-as-code initiatives.
• Identify technical debt and develop structured remediation plans.

Technical Environment

Experience with several of the following would be valuable:

• Python, Java, Kotlin, Go, or comparable backend languages.
• REST APIs and event-driven architectures.
• PostgreSQL and other relational databases.
• Cloud platforms and containerised environments.
• Docker and Kubernetes.
• CI/CD pipelines.
• Message brokers and distributed systems.
• Monitoring, logging, and observability platforms.
• Secure software-development practices.
• Financial APIs and payment-processing systems.

Candidate Profile

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
• 3+ years of professional software-engineering experience.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems and backend architecture.
• Experience developing production-grade applications.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving capabilities.
• Understanding of security principles and data protection.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary fintech teams.
• Strong written and spoken English.
