A rapidly developing fintech organisation in Estonia is seeking a Director of Fintech Operations to lead operational performance across a complex digital financial-services environment.

The role requires an experienced operations leader capable of bringing together people, processes, technology, controls, and performance management. You will establish operating structures that allow financial products to scale while maintaining service quality, efficiency, resilience, and regulatory discipline.

The Mandate

You will oversee critical operational functions and establish a consistent framework for measuring performance, managing incidents, improving processes, and supporting the successful delivery of fintech services.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute the operational strategy supporting business growth.
• Establish clear operational standards, procedures, KPIs, and performance-management frameworks.
• Lead cross-functional teams responsible for financial-service operations.
• Improve processes across payments, customer operations, reconciliations, settlements, and service delivery.
• Identify operational bottlenecks and implement sustainable improvements.
• Coordinate major incidents and operational escalations with technology and business teams.
• Work closely with compliance, risk, finance, product, and engineering leadership.
• Establish operational-readiness processes for new products and major platform changes.
• Monitor service performance, operational risk, capacity, and resource requirements.
• Develop automation opportunities to reduce manual processes and operational costs.
• Maintain strong documentation and governance across critical operational activities.
• Present operational performance and strategic recommendations to executive leadership.

Candidate Profile

• 8+ years of experience in fintech, banking, payments, financial operations, or technology-enabled services.
• Proven leadership experience across complex operational environments.
• Strong understanding of payment and digital-financial-service processes.
• Experience managing cross-functional teams and operational transformation programmes.
• Strong knowledge of KPIs, process optimisation, operational risk, and service management.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making capabilities.
• Comfortable operating in a fast-moving technology environment.
