Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Compliance Officer to oversee regulatory compliance activities, support corporate governance, and advise business teams on their compliance obligations. The role involves monitoring regulatory developments, maintaining internal policies, assessing compliance risks, and coordinating with relevant stakeholders to ensure that the organisation meets its legal and regulatory responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will be confident interpreting regulatory requirements, communicating compliance expectations, and translating complex rules into practical business controls.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and update the organisation’s compliance framework, internal policies, and operating procedures.
• Monitor applicable Estonian legislation, EU regulations, and guidance issued by relevant supervisory authorities.
• Conduct periodic compliance risk assessments and recommend appropriate mitigating controls.
• Advise management and operational teams on regulatory obligations and emerging compliance risks.
• Coordinate internal compliance reviews, control testing, and remediation activities.
• Maintain a regulatory obligations register and monitor the completion of required compliance actions.
• Prepare compliance reports, management updates, and supporting documentation for audits and supervisory reviews.
• Deliver compliance awareness sessions and training to employees.
• Review new products, business processes, partnerships, and operational changes for potential regulatory implications.
• Support the investigation and resolution of compliance breaches, incidents, and policy violations.
• Maintain appropriate records of regulatory communications, compliance decisions, and corrective actions.
• Work with legal, risk management, internal audit, and business leadership to strengthen governance arrangements.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of relevant experience in regulatory compliance, corporate governance, or risk management.
• Strong knowledge of the Estonian and EU regulatory environment relevant to the organisation’s activities.
• Experience developing policies, conducting compliance assessments, and coordinating audit activities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• Confidence advising stakeholders and escalating material compliance concerns.
• High ethical standards, sound judgement, and discretion when handling sensitive information.
• Fluency in English; Estonian language proficiency is an advantage.
• Relevant compliance, legal, or risk management certifications are desirable.
