Description
The Role
We are seeking a highly capable Compliance & AML Specialist to support the integrity, transparency, and regulatory resilience of a modern foreign exchange environment in Estonia. This role is suited to a compliance professional who understands the risks associated with FX transactions, digital financial services, cross-border payments, and customer onboarding.
You will play a hands-on role in identifying financial-crime risks, reviewing customer activity, strengthening AML controls, and ensuring that compliance processes remain effective as the business and its transaction volumes evolve.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct customer due diligence (CDD), KYC, enhanced due diligence (EDD), and ongoing customer reviews.
- Review customer profiles, ownership structures, source of funds, source of wealth, and risk classifications.
- Monitor FX transactions and account activity for unusual or potentially suspicious patterns.
- Investigate alerts generated through transaction-monitoring and financial-crime systems.
- Conduct sanctions, PEP, adverse-media, and other relevant screening activities.
- Escalate potentially suspicious activity in accordance with internal procedures and applicable requirements.
- Maintain accurate AML investigation records, case documentation, and audit trails.
- Support periodic AML/KYC reviews and remediation of customer files.
- Assist with compliance risk assessments covering customers, products, jurisdictions, and transaction channels.
- Monitor regulatory and industry developments affecting foreign exchange and financial services.
- Support internal compliance testing, audits, regulatory reviews, and remediation programmes.
- Work closely with operations, risk, customer support, payments, and other business teams to resolve compliance issues.
Candidate Profile
- 2–5+ years of experience in AML, KYC, financial-crime compliance, or a related financial-services environment.
- Experience within forex, payments, banking, fintech, brokerage, or another regulated financial institution.
- Strong understanding of AML/CFT principles and risk-based compliance methodologies.
- Practical experience with transaction monitoring and customer due diligence.
- Strong analytical and investigative skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to assess complex customer profiles and transaction patterns objectively.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Comfortable working with compliance platforms, case-management systems, screening tools, and analytical databases.
- Professional qualifications such as CAMS/ACAMS, ICA, or equivalent are advantageous.
Why This Opportunity
This is an opportunity to join a sophisticated financial-services environment where compliance is treated as a core business function rather than an administrative requirement. You will have meaningful exposure to FX operations, financial-crime risk, regulatory controls, and international customer activity while developing your expertise within Estonia’s modern financial-services ecosystem.
