Role Overview

We are looking for a Business Intelligence Analyst specialising in financial and operational performance to analyse business results, monitor KPIs, and provide actionable recommendations to management. You will work closely with finance, payment operations, customer support, and commercial teams to develop reports that explain performance trends and support effective resource allocation.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyse financial and operational datasets to assess business performance against established targets.
• Develop dashboards and reports covering revenue, operating costs, transaction volumes, customer activity, and service performance.
• Monitor KPIs and investigate deviations from budgets, forecasts, and performance benchmarks.
• Prepare recurring management reports and support monthly and quarterly business reviews.
• Use SQL and business intelligence tools to combine and analyse data from multiple sources.
• Conduct variance analysis to identify the causes of changes in financial and operational results.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and business planning through historical data analysis.
• Analyse payment transaction trends, processing costs, customer acquisition metrics, and operational efficiency where relevant.
• Work with finance and operations teams to define consistent reporting metrics and data requirements.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost optimisation, and better resource utilisation.
• Validate reporting outputs and investigate inconsistencies between financial and operational systems.
• Present findings and recommendations to management in a clear, concise, and evidence-based manner.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business Analytics, Accounting, Statistics, or a related discipline.
• At least 3 years of experience in business intelligence, financial analysis, operational analytics, or performance reporting.
• Strong SQL skills and experience with data extraction, transformation, and analysis.
• Proficiency in Power BI, Tableau, or comparable reporting platforms.
• Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with financial reporting and KPI analysis.
• Understanding of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and business performance measurement.
• Ability to interpret complex datasets and identify meaningful trends and anomalies.
• Experience with payment operations, banking, fintech, or financial services is an advantage.
• Familiarity with Python, data warehouses, or automated reporting workflows is desirable.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to present insights to non-technical stakeholders.
