An innovative fintech company in Estonia is seeking a Blockchain Financial Systems Engineer to develop reliable infrastructure connecting distributed-ledger technology with modern financial applications.

This role is aimed at an experienced engineer who understands that production-grade blockchain systems require much more than smart-contract development—they require robust architecture, security, data integrity, monitoring, and integration with conventional financial technology.

The Role

You will design and build blockchain-enabled financial services, integrating distributed-ledger components with APIs, databases, cloud infrastructure, and existing fintech platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop production-grade blockchain infrastructure for financial applications.
• Build integrations between distributed-ledger systems and conventional fintech platforms.
• Develop and maintain secure APIs and backend services supporting blockchain-based products.
• Design systems for transaction monitoring, blockchain data processing, and reconciliation.
• Evaluate blockchain networks and technologies for specific financial use cases.
• Implement automated testing and security controls across blockchain applications.
• Monitor system performance, transaction reliability, and infrastructure health.
• Investigate technical incidents and improve system resilience.
• Collaborate with product, security, compliance, and backend engineering teams.
• Contribute to technical architecture decisions and blockchain engineering standards.
• Research emerging distributed-ledger technologies and assess their practical business value.

Technical Background

Strong experience in backend or blockchain engineering is expected, with knowledge of several of the following:

• Solidity or other smart-contract technologies
• JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Go, Java, or comparable languages
• REST and event-driven APIs
• Distributed systems and databases
• Cloud infrastructure and containerisation
• Blockchain nodes, indexing, and transaction processing
• Cryptographic concepts and secure application development
• Automated testing and CI/CD

Experience applying blockchain technology to payments, digital assets, financial infrastructure, settlement, or transaction systems is particularly valuable.
