Description

About the Company

Our client is a technology company developing blockchain-based applications and digital infrastructure for modern businesses. The organisation focuses on secure, transparent, and scalable decentralised solutions, with an emphasis on code quality, smart contract reliability, and practical blockchain adoption.

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Blockchain Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain smart contracts and blockchain applications. The successful candidate will work closely with backend engineers, product managers, security specialists, and other technical stakeholders to deliver reliable decentralised functionality.

This role is suited to an engineer with strong Solidity development skills, a sound understanding of blockchain architecture, and a commitment to secure software engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain smart contracts for blockchain-based applications.
  • Develop Solidity contracts for Ethereum-compatible networks and relevant Layer 2 ecosystems.
  • Translate product requirements into secure, efficient, and maintainable contract logic.
  • Build and maintain automated testing suites using tools such as Foundry, Hardhat, or equivalent frameworks.
  • Conduct unit, integration, and fork-based testing to validate contract behaviour.
  • Identify and address common smart contract vulnerabilities, including reentrancy, access-control failures, and arithmetic or logic errors.
  • Optimise contract execution costs and gas consumption.
  • Integrate smart contracts with backend services, APIs, and frontend applications.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and security assessments.
  • Prepare deployment scripts, configuration files, and technical documentation.
  • Support testnet and mainnet deployments, monitoring, and post-deployment maintenance.
  • Investigate production issues and implement appropriate fixes and improvements.
  • Keep up to date with Solidity developments, blockchain standards, and secure development practices.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • At least 3 years of experience in software engineering, including practical blockchain or smart contract development.
  • Strong proficiency in Solidity and familiarity with Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) architecture.
  • Experience with Foundry, Hardhat, or comparable smart contract development frameworks.
  • Understanding of ERC-20, ERC-721, ERC-1155, and other relevant token standards.
  • Knowledge of blockchain transactions, events, gas optimisation, and contract deployment.
  • Experience writing automated tests and reviewing code for security and reliability.
  • Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and collaborative software development workflows.
  • Understanding of cryptographic principles, wallets, and blockchain transaction signing.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Good written and spoken English.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate with a distributed engineering team.

What We Offer

  • Remote working opportunity from Estonia, subject to company policy.
  • Competitive compensation based on experience and technical expertise.
  • Opportunity to contribute to production blockchain applications.
  • Access to modern development, testing, and security tools.
  • Collaborative engineering culture with an emphasis on technical quality.
  • Professional development and opportunities to deepen blockchain expertise.

Application Instructions

Interested candidates should submit an updated CV outlining their smart contract development experience, relevant technical skills, and completed blockchain projects. Applicants are encouraged to include a GitHub profile, technical portfolio, or examples of deployed contracts where appropriate and safe to share.

Equal Opportunity Statement: The employer is committed to fair and inclusive recruitment and evaluates candidates based on relevant qualifications, technical capabilities, and professional experience.
