We are seeking a Senior Full-Stack Engineer to take technical ownership of complex application features, influence platform architecture, and help establish engineering practices that support long-term growth.

About the Role

As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer, you will lead the design and implementation of frontend and backend systems, contribute to architectural decisions, and help improve the performance and reliability of production applications.

You will work across user interfaces, APIs, data layers, and cloud infrastructure while collaborating with product managers, designers, DevOps specialists, and other engineers. In addition to delivering software, you will mentor colleagues, review technical solutions, and help reduce complexity across the application stack.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable full-stack applications using modern frontend frameworks and backend technologies.
• Develop maintainable frontend architectures using React, Angular, or comparable frameworks with TypeScript.
• Build robust backend services and APIs using Java, Kotlin, Go, C#, Python, or Node.js.
• Define service boundaries, data models, integration patterns, and application architecture.
• Design efficient database structures and optimise queries, caching, and data-access patterns.
• Build integrations with external services and develop asynchronous processing workflows where appropriate.
• Improve application performance, scalability, fault tolerance, and production observability.
• Establish and maintain automated testing strategies across frontend and backend components.
• Collaborate with platform engineers to improve CI/CD pipelines, cloud deployments, and infrastructure automation.
• Apply security best practices for identity management, access controls, data protection, and secrets handling.
• Lead code reviews and technical design sessions while promoting consistent engineering standards.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and support their professional development.
• Investigate complex production incidents and coordinate improvements to prevent recurrence.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend solutions that improve maintainability and delivery efficiency.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
• Significant experience delivering and maintaining production-grade full-stack applications.
• Strong proficiency in at least one modern frontend framework and one backend programming language.
• Advanced understanding of TypeScript or JavaScript and modern frontend architecture.
• Experience designing APIs, distributed services, and database-backed applications.
• Strong knowledge of SQL databases, data modelling, and application performance optimisation.
• Experience with cloud platforms, containerisation, and automated deployment workflows.
• Familiarity with automated testing, code review, observability, and production support practices.
• Understanding of secure software development and scalable system design.
• Demonstrated ability to make architectural decisions and communicate technical trade-offs.
• Experience mentoring engineers or leading technical initiatives.
• Excellent English communication and collaboration skills; Estonian language skills are beneficial.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD tooling.
• Experience with microservices, event-driven systems, message brokers, or distributed architectures.
• Knowledge of performance monitoring, distributed tracing, and reliability engineering.
• Experience developing fintech, banking, SaaS, or other transaction-intensive applications.
• Familiarity with monorepos, design systems, or large-scale frontend architecture.
• Experience with Agile delivery, technical roadmaps, and cross-team engineering collaboration.
