Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Payment Gateway Integration Engineer to design, implement, and maintain integrations between digital payment platforms, financial institutions, merchant systems, and third-party payment providers.

The successful candidate will play an important role in improving payment connectivity, transaction processing reliability, and system interoperability. Working alongside software engineers, product specialists, and payment operations teams, the engineer will contribute to scalable integration solutions that support complex financial transaction environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement payment gateway integrations for digital financial platforms.

• Develop and maintain secure API connections with payment processors and banking partners.

• Build reliable transaction communication and processing workflows.

• Integrate card payment systems, bank transfers, and alternative payment methods.

• Investigate payment failures, processing delays, and integration-related discrepancies.

• Develop automated testing procedures for payment integration components.

• Collaborate with product teams to implement new payment functionalities.

• Monitor integration performance and recommend improvements.

• Maintain technical documentation covering APIs, payment flows, and system configurations.

• Ensure integration solutions follow appropriate security and data protection practices.

• Participate in code reviews and technical architecture discussions.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology.

• Significant experience in software engineering or payment integration development.

• Strong proficiency in Java, Python, JavaScript, or TypeScript.

• Practical experience developing REST APIs and webhook integrations.

• Understanding of payment processing, settlement workflows, and transaction lifecycles.

• Familiarity with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or comparable database systems.

• Knowledge of payment security standards and PCI DSS principles.

• Experience with cloud infrastructure and distributed systems.

• Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.

• Excellent technical documentation and communication skills.
