This position combines software engineering, transaction intelligence, data analysis, and financial-risk controls. You will work closely with fraud specialists, data scientists, security professionals, and product engineers to develop scalable preventative systems.

Your Mission

You will design and implement technical capabilities that detect suspicious behaviour, reduce fraudulent transactions, and improve the speed and accuracy of financial-risk decisions while maintaining efficient customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop real-time fraud-detection and prevention services.
  • Build transaction-risk assessment and decisioning components.
  • Develop APIs and event-driven services supporting fraud controls.
  • Integrate behavioural, transactional, device, and account-level signals into risk systems.
  • Collaborate with data scientists on productionisation of fraud models.
  • Develop rules engines and automated decision workflows.
  • Analyse fraud patterns and translate emerging threats into technical controls.
  • Improve system latency, scalability, accuracy, and reliability.
  • Develop monitoring for fraud-system performance and decision quality.
  • Investigate technical causes of fraudulent activity and control failures.
  • Work with security, compliance, product, and operations teams on fraud-prevention initiatives.
  • Establish automated testing for risk and decisioning systems.

Candidate Profile

  • 5+ years of software-engineering experience, preferably within fintech, payments, banking, cybersecurity, or fraud technology.
  • Strong backend development experience using Java, Kotlin, Go, Python, or comparable technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of distributed systems, APIs, databases, event streaming, and cloud infrastructure.
  • Experience with real-time decisioning, fraud detection, risk engines, or transaction-monitoring systems.
  • Strong understanding of data structures, system performance, and production observability.
  • Ability to work effectively with data scientists and financial-risk specialists.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.

Technical Environment

Real-time transaction systems, event streaming, APIs, cloud platforms, microservices, rules engines, machine-learning services, distributed databases, monitoring platforms, and automated testing.

Why This Opportunity

You will contribute directly to the engineering of financial-risk systems that must operate at speed while maintaining accuracy, resilience, and strong customer protections.

Ideal Candidate: A senior engineer who combines strong software-development expertise with an analytical understanding of fraud, transaction risk, and real-time financial systems.
