A leading fintech environment in Estonia is seeking a Senior Digital Identity Engineer to design and strengthen secure identity infrastructure supporting customer onboarding, authentication, account access, and digital financial services.

This is a technically demanding role for an engineer who understands that identity is a foundational component of modern fintech. You will work across authentication platforms, identity lifecycle management, API security, and customer verification while helping create secure and frictionless digital experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable identity and authentication services for digital financial products.
• Build secure identity APIs and integrate them with internal platforms and external service providers.
• Develop authentication mechanisms, access-control models, and identity lifecycle processes.
• Implement secure solutions for customer registration, authentication, account recovery, and privileged access.
• Collaborate with security, product, compliance, and engineering teams on identity-related initiatives.
• Improve identity verification workflows while maintaining strong security and regulatory controls.
• Monitor identity systems for vulnerabilities, unusual behaviour, and operational weaknesses.
• Establish automated testing and monitoring for critical identity services.
• Participate in architectural reviews and technical decisions concerning authentication and security.
• Contribute to incident response and post-incident improvement programmes.
• Maintain high engineering standards across documentation, testing, observability, and deployment.

Candidate Profile

• 6+ years of experience in software engineering, identity engineering, cybersecurity, or related technical disciplines.
• Strong experience with authentication, authorisation, OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, API security, and access management.
• Proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Java, Kotlin, Python, Go, or TypeScript.
• Experience with cloud-native environments and distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of security engineering principles and secure software development.
• Excellent analytical and communication skills.
