A technology-driven fintech environment in Estonia is looking for a Senior Banking Integration Engineer to build and maintain robust connections between fintech platforms and banking infrastructure.

The role focuses on the technical complexity behind account services, transaction processing, banking connectivity, data exchange, and financial workflows. You will work closely with engineering, product, payments, and operations teams to create dependable integration capabilities.

Engineering Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain integrations with banks and financial infrastructure providers.
• Build reliable services for account information, transaction processing, transfers, and financial data exchange.
• Design API and event-driven integration architectures.
• Implement resilient handling of failures, retries, timeouts, and asynchronous processing.
• Develop automated tests for banking integrations and transaction workflows.
• Monitor integration health and investigate production issues.
• Ensure sensitive financial data is handled securely throughout integration processes.
• Collaborate with product and operations teams to resolve integration-related customer issues.
• Improve integration observability through structured logging, metrics, and tracing.
• Participate in technical design reviews and architectural discussions.
• Modernise legacy banking connections and reduce integration complexity.
• Document technical interfaces, dependencies, operational procedures, and failure scenarios.

Candidate Profile

• 6+ years of experience in backend engineering, banking technology, payments, or fintech.
• Strong experience with APIs, distributed systems, and third-party integrations.
• Proficiency in Java, Kotlin, Go, Python, TypeScript, or a similar language.
• Solid understanding of REST APIs, messaging systems, webhooks, and asynchronous processing.
• Experience working with financial transactions or banking data is highly valuable.
• Strong understanding of testing, observability, security, and production operations.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

Banking APIs, open-banking integrations, payment services, event streaming, microservices, cloud infrastructure, relational databases, API gateways, automated testing, monitoring, and distributed transaction processing.
