We are seeking a Principal Open Banking Architect to lead the architecture of sophisticated financial-data and account connectivity platforms serving banks, payment providers, fintechs, and digital financial products across European markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Define scalable architectures for open banking APIs, account information services, payment initiation, and financial-data aggregation.
• Design secure connectivity between financial institutions, fintech platforms, identity providers, and third-party financial services.
• Establish API standards covering authentication, authorization, consent management, data integrity, versioning, and service reliability.
• Architect event-driven services capable of processing high volumes of financial transactions and account-data requests.
• Lead technical assessments of third-party banking and payment integrations.
• Develop strategies for resilience, disaster recovery, observability, and operational continuity.
• Work closely with cybersecurity, compliance, engineering, product, and infrastructure teams.
• Provide architectural leadership for major platform modernization initiatives.

Candidate Profile

• 8+ years of experience in software architecture, banking technology, payments, or fintech.
• Strong expertise in APIs, distributed systems, cloud architecture, event-driven platforms, and identity technologies.
• Practical understanding of open banking and European financial-data ecosystems.
• Experience designing high-availability platforms handling sensitive financial information.
• Strong technical leadership and architecture documentation skills.
