Design the Cloud Foundation for High-Scale Financial Technology

A technology-led fintech organization in Estonia is seeking a Principal Fintech Infrastructure Engineer to architect and evolve the cloud and platform infrastructure supporting critical financial applications.

This is a high-level infrastructure engineering position for a professional who can operate across cloud architecture, platform engineering, automation, security, networking, and distributed systems. You will influence how engineering teams build, deploy, operate, and scale financial technology across production environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Define infrastructure architecture for highly available fintech platforms and services.
• Build scalable cloud foundations supporting transaction processing and customer-facing applications.
• Develop internal platform capabilities that allow engineering teams to deploy and operate services efficiently.
• Establish infrastructure-as-code standards and automated provisioning practices.
• Design resilient networking, compute, storage, and database architectures.
• Develop strategies for scalability, disaster recovery, business continuity, and infrastructure resilience.
• Improve deployment automation and engineering productivity through sophisticated CI/CD platforms.
• Establish comprehensive monitoring, logging, tracing, and infrastructure observability.
• Implement cloud-security controls covering identity, networking, secrets, access management, and workload protection.
• Optimize infrastructure performance and cloud expenditure without compromising reliability.
• Work with software engineers and architects to improve application deployment and production readiness.
• Lead complex infrastructure initiatives from architecture through implementation.
• Mentor infrastructure and platform engineers and establish engineering standards.

What You Bring

• 8+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, cloud engineering, DevOps, SRE, or platform engineering.
• Demonstrated experience designing highly available production environments.
• Advanced expertise with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
• Strong Kubernetes and container-platform experience.
• Deep knowledge of networking, Linux, databases, distributed systems, and cloud architecture.
• Extensive experience with Terraform or comparable infrastructure-as-code technologies.
• Strong CI/CD and platform-automation expertise.
• Experience implementing observability, incident response, disaster recovery, and resilience strategies.
• Strong understanding of cloud security and infrastructure governance.
• Excellent architectural judgment and technical leadership capabilities.

Technical Environment

The platform may include Kubernetes, Terraform, AWS/Azure, Docker, Linux, PostgreSQL, Kafka, cloud networking, service meshes, CI/CD platforms, observability systems, secrets management, and automated infrastructure provisioning.
