A sophisticated fintech technology team in Estonia is looking for a Principal Fintech Infrastructure Engineer to design and evolve the infrastructure supporting secure, scalable, and highly available financial applications.

This is a deeply technical position focused on infrastructure strategy, cloud engineering, automation, developer enablement, and platform resilience. You will influence infrastructure decisions across the engineering organisation while remaining close to hands-on technical challenges.

Engineering Scope

The successful candidate will help create infrastructure that allows development teams to deploy financial applications safely, consistently, and at scale.

Key Responsibilities

• Define infrastructure architecture for critical fintech applications and services.
• Design scalable cloud environments across compute, networking, storage, and security layers.
• Build reusable infrastructure platforms that improve developer productivity.
• Establish infrastructure-as-code standards and automated provisioning practices.
• Improve deployment pipelines, environment management, and release automation.
• Design resilient infrastructure capable of supporting high availability and rapid recovery.
• Establish monitoring, observability, capacity-management, and performance standards.
• Collaborate with security teams to strengthen infrastructure protection and access controls.
• Support engineering teams with platform tooling and self-service capabilities.
• Identify infrastructure bottlenecks and develop long-term architectural solutions.
• Evaluate cloud technologies and make evidence-based recommendations for adoption.
• Mentor infrastructure and platform engineers while establishing strong engineering practices.

Candidate Profile

• 9+ years of experience in infrastructure engineering, cloud engineering, platform engineering, or DevOps.
• Extensive experience with AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, or comparable cloud environments.
• Strong expertise in Kubernetes, Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code technologies.
• Deep understanding of networking, Linux, containers, distributed systems, and cloud security.
• Strong experience building CI/CD and developer-platform capabilities.
• Understanding of high-availability architecture and disaster-recovery principles.
• Strong technical leadership and architectural communication skills.

Infrastructure Environment

Cloud platforms, Kubernetes, container orchestration, infrastructure-as-code, automated CI/CD, service meshes, observability platforms, secure networking, secrets management, and self-service developer tooling.
