Description
Position Overview
A technology-driven financial-markets environment in Estonia is seeking a Platform Infrastructure Engineer to strengthen the engineering and operational capabilities supporting its trading technology stack.
The successful candidate will help design, operate, automate, and continuously improve infrastructure used by trading applications, market-data services, internal platforms, and critical financial technology.
The role combines hands-on infrastructure engineering with platform reliability, automation, performance optimisation, and technical problem-solving.
Core Responsibilities
- Engineer resilient infrastructure for mission-critical financial applications.
- Provision and manage infrastructure across cloud and on-premises environments.
- Develop repeatable infrastructure through Infrastructure as Code.
- Maintain production Kubernetes and container environments where applicable.
- Configure and optimise Linux systems supporting trading workloads.
- Design monitoring and observability solutions for critical infrastructure components.
- Analyse system behaviour to identify performance bottlenecks and reliability risks.
- Support high-throughput and latency-sensitive financial applications.
- Maintain secure network architecture and connectivity between internal and external services.
- Support integration with market-data feeds, trading venues, brokers, and financial technology providers.
- Implement automated deployment and configuration-management processes.
- Participate in on-call operations and structured incident response.
- Conduct post-incident reviews and implement corrective actions.
- Contribute to infrastructure lifecycle management, technology upgrades, and capacity planning.
- Maintain infrastructure documentation and operational runbooks.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3–6+ years of experience in infrastructure, platform engineering, SRE, systems engineering, or DevOps.
- Strong Linux and networking knowledge.
- Experience with at least one major cloud platform.
- Practical expertise with Terraform, Kubernetes, Docker, Ansible, or comparable technologies.
- Strong scripting or programming ability, preferably Python or Bash.
- Understanding of distributed systems, high availability, observability, and fault tolerance.
- Experience with production environments where uptime and performance are critical.
- Strong security awareness and understanding of infrastructure hardening.
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Technical Mindset
The ideal engineer understands that trading infrastructure is fundamentally different from ordinary enterprise IT. Latency, availability, determinism, capacity, resilience, and controlled change can all have direct operational and financial consequences.
You should therefore be comfortable investigating problems at multiple layers—from application behaviour and container orchestration to operating systems, networks, storage, and cloud infrastructure.
Why This Opportunity
This is an opportunity to work within a sophisticated financial-trading technology environment, developing infrastructure that supports market connectivity, trading applications, data-intensive workloads, and critical financial operations.
The role offers strong exposure to modern platform engineering while allowing you to build specialist expertise in the infrastructure that powers electronic financial markets.
