The Opportunity

A high-growth fintech environment in Estonia is seeking a Fintech Platform Engineer to build and enhance the technical infrastructure supporting modern financial products. This role is suited to an engineer who understands that financial platforms require more than conventional software development—they demand reliability, security, traceability, and exceptional performance.

You will work across transaction services, payment integrations, internal financial systems, APIs, and platform infrastructure, helping create technology capable of supporting scalable financial operations across European markets.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable fintech platform services.
• Build secure APIs connecting financial products, payment providers, banking systems, and internal applications.
• Develop services for transaction processing, account operations, reconciliation, and financial workflows.
• Improve platform reliability, observability, performance, and fault tolerance.
• Integrate third-party financial and identity-verification services.
• Collaborate with product, security, compliance, data, and engineering teams.
• Participate in architecture reviews and technical design decisions.
• Identify technical bottlenecks and implement sustainable engineering solutions.
• Maintain high standards for testing, documentation, deployment, and code quality.

Candidate Profile

• Strong professional experience in software engineering, preferably within fintech, banking, payments, or another highly regulated technology environment.
• Solid knowledge of backend development and API architecture.
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, databases, distributed systems, or event-driven architectures.
• Understanding of security principles applicable to financial applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Comfortable working in an international, product-focused environment.
• Professional English communication skills.
