We are seeking a Payments Risk Manager to oversee risk identification, transaction monitoring, fraud controls, and operational resilience across modern payment environments.

This position is designed for an experienced risk professional who understands both the commercial importance of seamless payments and the operational discipline required to protect financial systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain payment-risk frameworks covering transaction and operational risks.
• Analyse payment activity to identify unusual patterns, emerging threats, and control weaknesses.
• Establish and optimise transaction-monitoring and risk-management processes.
• Work with fraud, compliance, engineering, operations, and product teams to strengthen controls.
• Define risk indicators, thresholds, escalation procedures, and monitoring standards.
• Investigate significant payment-risk events and coordinate remediation.
• Analyse fraud trends and recommend improvements to preventive controls.
• Support risk assessments for new payment products, markets, and integrations.
• Produce risk reporting and actionable insights for senior management.
• Contribute to business-continuity and operational-resilience initiatives.

Ideal Candidate

• 5+ years of experience in payments, financial risk, fraud prevention, banking operations, or fintech.
• Strong understanding of payment flows, transaction monitoring, fraud typologies, and risk controls.
• Experience working with data and risk-analysis tools.
• Strong analytical and investigative capabilities.
• Excellent understanding of operational risk and control frameworks.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
