Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Payments Architect to design and evolve scalable payment architectures supporting digital financial products, transaction processing, settlement, and payment integrations.

The position requires a strong combination of payments expertise, systems architecture, technical leadership, and understanding of financial transaction lifecycles.

Key Responsibilities

• Design scalable architectures for domestic and cross-border payment processing.
• Define technical patterns for transaction initiation, authorisation, routing, clearing, and settlement.
• Architect integrations with banks, payment processors, financial institutions, and third-party platforms.
• Establish reliable mechanisms for transaction reconciliation and exception handling.
• Evaluate payment technologies, APIs, messaging protocols, and integration frameworks.
• Develop architecture standards for highly available financial systems.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to translate architectural designs into production systems.
• Identify performance, scalability, resilience, and integration risks.
• Support implementation of payment monitoring and transaction-observability capabilities.
• Review technical designs and provide architectural governance.
• Contribute to payment-platform modernisation and automation initiatives.
• Document system architectures, interfaces, dependencies, and technical standards.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• 6+ years of experience in software architecture, payments technology, banking technology, or fintech.
• Strong knowledge of payment processing and financial transaction lifecycles.
• Experience designing API-driven and distributed systems.
• Understanding of cloud architecture, databases, messaging systems, and integration technologies.
• Strong knowledge of system availability, resilience, security, and scalability.
• Excellent technical communication and stakeholder-management capabilities.
