The Architect will design and evolve sophisticated technology architectures supporting secure, scalable, resilient, and highly available financial services. The position requires a professional capable of connecting enterprise architecture with payments technology, distributed systems, cloud infrastructure, security, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Design enterprise and solution architectures for modern payment and financial technology platforms.
• Develop architectural blueprints covering APIs, microservices, databases, event-driven systems, cloud infrastructure, and integration layers.
• Establish technical standards for scalability, resilience, observability, availability, and maintainability.
• Design integrations between fintech platforms, banking infrastructure, payment networks, identity services, and external technology providers.
• Evaluate architectural risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Lead technical design reviews and provide architectural guidance to engineering teams.
• Develop technology roadmaps that support business growth and long-term platform evolution.
• Ensure architecture decisions incorporate appropriate cybersecurity, privacy, resilience, and regulatory considerations.
• Analyse system performance and identify opportunities to eliminate bottlenecks and improve transaction-processing efficiency.
• Support technology due diligence for new platforms, vendors, strategic partnerships, and acquisitions.
• Establish documentation standards covering architecture principles, system dependencies, interfaces, and technology decisions.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, product, security, data, risk, and business stakeholders.

Professional Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical discipline.
• 6+ years of professional experience in software architecture, enterprise architecture, financial technology, payments, or distributed systems.
• Strong knowledge of cloud computing, APIs, microservices, event-driven architecture, databases, and integration technologies.
• Experience designing highly available and transaction-intensive systems.
• Understanding of payment processing, financial data flows, and technology risk.
• Strong knowledge of software-development lifecycle practices and modern engineering methodologies.
• Excellent technical documentation, communication, and problem-solving capabilities.
• Ability to balance architectural quality with commercial priorities and delivery constraints.
