Description
Company Overview
The organisation focuses on digital product development, creating mobile experiences that help users access services, manage information, and complete everyday tasks through well-designed applications. Its product-development approach brings together user research, interface design, product strategy, and engineering to deliver digital solutions that respond to user needs and evolving business priorities.
The organisation values evidence-informed design, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Designers work alongside product managers, developers, analysts, and other stakeholders to identify user challenges, explore potential solutions, and refine application experiences throughout the product lifecycle.
Role Summary
The Mobile Product Experience Designer will help shape how users discover, understand, and interact with mobile application features. The role extends beyond screen design to include user journey development, interaction planning, experience mapping, prototyping, and the identification of opportunities to improve product usability.
The successful candidate will work closely with product managers and engineering teams to translate business requirements and user insights into coherent mobile experiences. Responsibilities will include exploring design alternatives, validating interaction concepts, improving existing workflows, and ensuring that new features fit naturally within the broader application experience.
This position is suited to a designer who combines creative thinking with structured problem-solving and an interest in understanding user behaviour. The candidate should be comfortable working through ambiguous product challenges, presenting design recommendations, and balancing user needs with technical feasibility and product objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design end-to-end mobile user journeys that support clear navigation, efficient task completion, and consistent interactions.
- Translate product objectives, user needs, and functional requirements into wireframes, prototypes, interface specifications, and design solutions.
- Collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to define design problems, clarify feature requirements, and establish experience priorities.
- Support discovery activities through user interviews, feedback analysis, usability testing, and the review of existing product workflows.
- Identify usability challenges within current application experiences and propose improvements to navigation, information presentation, and interaction patterns.
- Create interactive prototypes to communicate proposed solutions and evaluate user flows before development begins.
- Design experiences for account creation, onboarding, search, settings, notifications, transactions, content discovery, and other relevant mobile workflows.
- Work with UX and visual designers to ensure that product experiences are both functionally intuitive and visually consistent.
- Consider edge cases, loading states, error messages, empty states, and other interface conditions that influence the overall user experience.
- Apply accessibility and inclusive-design principles to support users with different abilities, preferences, and levels of digital experience.
- Collaborate with mobile developers to assess technical constraints and ensure that proposed experiences can be implemented effectively.
- Participate in design reviews, sprint planning, and product discussions to communicate design decisions and resolve open questions.
- Review implemented features and recommend refinements based on usability findings, product feedback, and observed implementation issues.
- Maintain design documentation, user-flow diagrams, prototypes, and reusable components to support consistent product development.
- Use available product analytics and user feedback to identify opportunities for experience improvements and help evaluate the impact of design changes.
- Manage several design activities simultaneously while communicating progress, dependencies, and delivery expectations clearly.
Requirements and Qualifications
- A degree, diploma, or equivalent professional training in product design, interaction design, UX design, human-computer interaction, or a related discipline is preferred.
- Relevant experience designing mobile applications, digital products, or user-centred software experiences.
- A portfolio demonstrating end-to-end product-design work, including user journeys, interaction flows, wireframes, prototypes, and final interface designs.
- Proficiency in Figma or a comparable tool for interface design, prototyping, and collaborative design work.
- Strong understanding of user-centred design, information architecture, interaction patterns, and usability evaluation.
- Familiarity with mobile application development workflows and the design conventions of iOS and Android.
- Ability to interpret research findings, product requirements, and user feedback to develop practical design recommendations.
- Understanding of accessibility, responsive layouts, and the importance of designing for different devices and user contexts.
- Experience collaborating with product managers, software developers, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to explain design decisions clearly and support recommendations with user needs, design principles, or available evidence.
- Strong problem-solving, critical-thinking, and organisational skills.
- Ability to manage changing priorities, respond constructively to feedback, and deliver work within agreed timelines.
- Confidence working independently in a remote environment while remaining actively engaged with distributed colleagues.
- Professional working proficiency in English; Estonian language skills are an advantage where product research or local-language content requires them.
Benefits
- Fully remote working arrangement within Estonia.
- Opportunity to contribute to product discovery, experience design, and the improvement of mobile application features.
- Collaboration with product, research, design, and engineering professionals.
- Opportunities to develop expertise in user research, prototyping, interaction design, and product strategy.
- Access to suitable digital design tools and collaborative working resources.
- An environment that encourages evidence-informed decisions, constructive design reviews, and continuous learning.
- Opportunities to take ownership of design initiatives and see projects progress from early concepts to implementation.
Application Instructions
Interested candidates should submit an up-to-date CV and a portfolio demonstrating relevant mobile product and user experience design work. Applications should include case studies explaining the design challenge, the candidate’s responsibilities, the process used to explore solutions, and the reasoning behind the final design decisions.
