Description
Company Overview
The organisation supports the development of digital products and mobile applications that rely on strong visual communication, consistent branding, and polished interface presentation. Its creative function works to ensure that mobile products deliver a recognisable visual identity while presenting information in ways that are engaging, accessible, and easy to understand.
The design team collaborates with product specialists, UX designers, developers, and marketing professionals to translate product concepts into cohesive visual experiences. The organisation values creativity, technical accuracy, and an organised design process that enables visual assets to be implemented consistently across digital platforms.
Role Summary
The Mobile Application Visual Designer will focus on the visual presentation of mobile applications, creating attractive and consistent interfaces that reflect product identity and support a positive user experience. The position emphasises colour systems, typography, iconography, illustrations, screen composition, visual hierarchy, and the development of reusable graphical elements.
Working with product and UX teams, the designer will transform wireframes and product requirements into refined visual interfaces. The role also involves developing graphical assets for onboarding, feature introductions, in-app messaging, empty states, and other application experiences.
The ideal candidate combines a strong visual-design foundation with an understanding of mobile interface constraints. They should be capable of producing creative solutions while ensuring that graphics remain functional, consistent, and suitable for implementation across supported devices.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop high-quality visual designs for mobile application screens, ensuring consistency with brand guidelines and established design standards.
- Translate wireframes and UX specifications into polished interfaces with clear typography, balanced layouts, and appropriate use of colour.
- Create icons, illustrations, buttons, interface graphics, badges, and other visual elements that support application functionality.
- Design visual treatments for onboarding screens, feature announcements, empty states, confirmation messages, and in-app promotional content.
- Establish and maintain reusable visual components, styles, and graphical assets to support consistent product development.
- Collaborate with UX designers to ensure that visual decisions strengthen usability rather than create unnecessary complexity.
- Adapt design concepts to different screen sizes, device resolutions, and platform requirements.
- Apply appropriate visual hierarchy to guide attention and make important actions, information, and interface states easy to recognise.
- Prepare production-ready graphics and export assets in suitable formats, sizes, and resolutions.
- Work with developers to clarify asset specifications, discuss visual implementation, and resolve design-related technical issues.
- Review implemented screens to identify discrepancies between approved designs and the final application.
- Maintain organised design libraries, source files, naming conventions, and documentation for future updates.
- Participate in design critiques and incorporate constructive feedback from product, UX, and engineering colleagues.
- Research contemporary mobile design practices, illustration approaches, and interface-visualisation techniques.
- Support improvements to existing application interfaces by identifying inconsistencies and recommending practical visual refinements.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Education or professional training in graphic design, digital design, visual communication, interface design, or a related field.
- Demonstrable experience creating visual assets and interface designs for mobile applications or digital products.
- A strong portfolio featuring mobile screens, icon systems, illustrations, typography, colour systems, and visual design case studies.
- Proficiency in Figma and familiarity with Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop or comparable creative tools.
- Strong knowledge of composition, colour theory, typography, spacing, contrast, and visual hierarchy.
- Understanding of mobile interface conventions and the practical requirements of designing for iOS and Android.
- Familiarity with reusable components, design systems, and asset handoff processes.
- Knowledge of accessibility considerations, including colour contrast, text legibility, and the clear presentation of interactive elements.
- Ability to interpret UX wireframes and product specifications while contributing independent visual ideas.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain consistency across numerous screens and application features.
- Good organisational skills, including the ability to manage design revisions, file versions, and delivery schedules.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills when working with product designers, developers, and other stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities within a remote team.
- Professional working proficiency in English; Estonian language skills are beneficial for products serving local audiences.
Benefits
- Fully remote working arrangement within Estonia.
- Opportunity to shape the visual quality and identity of mobile digital products.
- Exposure to a variety of interface-design challenges, visual systems, and mobile product features.
- Collaboration with professionals across UX, product development, and engineering.
- Access to suitable design software and digital collaboration resources.
- Opportunities to develop advanced skills in interface visualisation, design systems, and mobile graphics.
