The Opportunity

You will develop the platform services responsible for collecting and processing transaction signals, applying risk rules, supporting fraud-detection models, and delivering real-time intelligence to fintech applications.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect scalable backend services for real-time transaction monitoring.
• Develop high-throughput event-processing pipelines for payments, transfers, account activity, and financial events.
• Build APIs connecting transaction systems with fraud, risk, identity, and financial-intelligence services.
• Implement configurable rules engines for transaction screening and risk workflows.
• Integrate machine-learning models and risk-scoring services into production systems.
• Develop data-enrichment and normalization pipelines for financial transactions.
• Engineer low-latency processing mechanisms for time-sensitive risk decisions.
• Build systems for alerts, case creation, investigation workflows, and risk-event management.
• Implement strong auditability across transaction decisions and risk events.
• Optimize Kafka consumers, databases, caching layers, and distributed workloads.
• Establish automated testing, observability, performance monitoring, and deployment pipelines.
• Provide technical leadership across architecture and complex engineering initiatives.

Required Background

• 6+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Advanced proficiency in Python, Java, Go, Scala, or TypeScript/Node.js.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, event streaming, microservices, and API architecture.
• Excellent SQL and database-engineering skills.
• Experience with Kafka, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure.
• Understanding of fraud detection, transaction monitoring, risk scoring, or financial crime technology.
• Experience integrating analytical or machine-learning services into production applications.
• Strong knowledge of secure development and sensitive financial-data handling.
